How matching works

Tell us the job — service, city and ZIP, property type, what you know about your panel. Licensed local installers who cover your city respond, visit, and quote in writing. Our city pages exist so you can judge those quotes against your utility's programs, your state's law and your housing stock's real numbers.

Why the local facts are published

Most installation content on the internet is one national template with the city name swapped. Ours is built the other way: every city page is assembled from joined public data — Census Bureau survey figures for the city's housing, EIA service-territory records for its utility, AFDC registration counts for its state, and the statute indexes for its law — with sources and as-of dates on the page. Where the honest answer is 'no program' or 'no law', the page says that too.

Frequently asked questions

What is PlugReady USA?

A nationwide matching service for EV charger installation. We publish sourced local research for 300 metro areas — utility programs, state law, permits, housing data — and route installation requests to licensed local installers. We do not install chargers ourselves.

How much of the country do you cover?

300 metro areas across all 50 states and the District of Columbia, ranked by measured EV registrations (AFDC 2025 data, Experian metro figures). Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area and New York lead the build order because that is where the vehicles are.

Is there still a federal tax credit for home chargers?

No. The federal 30C charger credit ended for equipment placed in service after September 30, 2025. The live incentive layer is utility and state programs, which our city pages list individually with sources and as-of dates — including the honest cases where no program is running.

What does an installer need to know to quote my job?

Your panel's size and spare capacity, where the car parks relative to the panel, your property type (house, condo, rental, commercial), and your ZIP. The request form asks for exactly those — two minutes, and the first conversation starts at the site visit instead of at the basics.

Do you cover condos and HOA communities?

Yes — multifamily charging is one of our ten services, and every city page states its state's right-to-charge position, including the states (among them Texas and Arizona) where no such law exists and the application package has to do the persuading.
